Our Community

Pinedale is a small mountain town nestled alongside the Wind River Mountain Range, about 80 miles south of Jackson, Wyoming. Our main industries are ranching, tourism, and natural gas production, although we have a diverse economy with most of the amenities found in larger communities (except for traffic lights and drive-through franchises).  We enjoy a full spectrum of outdoor activities year-round, even though our winter lasts from November through April.  We are fortunate to have a very active Fine Arts Council, and an excellent theatre facility, Shephard Auditorium, owned by Sublette County School District #1.
